The Barn camp experience will provide meaningful therapeutic interventions throughout the day to foster the camper's fine and gross motor skills, social skills, self confidence and self awareness. The professional interventions and peer interactions offer an opportunity for each child to continue to make positive strides during the summer and engage in typical camp activities. Important therapeutic interventions are provided during so many fun and exciting activities that each child will learn new, as well as enhance already learned skills. Camp will be the most fun and educational event our kids will have this summer. It's called theraplay, to the kids it's fun at camp.
Our campers will participate in all activities throughout the week. Each day will bring new and fun opportunities to explore sensory, motor, cognitive and fun play to integrate skills necessary for everyday life.
Areas of exploration include: arts/crafts, music, gross motor, fine motor, self help, textures and tactile peer interaction, team play, attention and focus and communication.
What we'll do at camp:
Paint Hiking Picnic in the forest
Art creations Carpentry/wood crafts
Water play Gardening
Horses Musical instruments
Hayrack rides Imaginative play/dress up
Climbing Outdoor games/sports
Swinging Wii games for kids...so much more
A safe environment and skilled staff create a fun and educational atmosphere. The Barn camp is in a fenced area for additional safety. One to three staff/child ratio maximum. Safety is of the most concern and a child's growth and development through theraplay summer camp is our goal.
Everyone has had so much fun with fine motor, sensory, tactile, texture, gross motor and group play. Our campers have made friends, take turns, help each other, wait for each other and get ideas from each other. Water play, sand play and a hay rack ride are always fun. Eating lunch and playing in the forest is always a big hit. And like all boys, chasing and wrestling is fun too. Camp days are filled with developmental and learning play with their peers.
